Outline of Position: This position is supported by a new NSF grant devoted to the application of free-electron X-ray lasers to structural biology. The position will be based in Hamburg, Germany at DESY CFEL, but is supported by a grant at SUNY Buffalo.  There will be time for research collaborations in addition to support duties. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in experimental Biophysics or similar.

 

Major Responsibilities:

1) Application of X-ray free electron laser to structural biology and development of sample-delivery devices.

2) International travel to annual meetings being held in the U.S.

3) Collaboration with partner institutions and labs in the U.S.

4) Interact via web conferencing with the principal investigator and scientific director of the project
