It is a common source of confusion. A "logical and" isn't the same as a "colloquial and". At some point I was toying with the idea to implement "and also" as an alias for "or". I didn't do it in the end because there is no precedence in any other system implementing atom selections with the logical not, and, or keywords (e.g. X-PLOR/CNS, PyMOL, VMD and probably many others).
