Large size display system
Sorry if this topic is bit off-list
We are looking for some advice regarding a presentation system that permit
the display in high definition of interactive molecular graphic sessions
(incl. PHENIX,COOT, PyMOL. CHIMERA etc ) to our research group (10-12
people). Ideally we would like a 32"-36" LCD monitor coupled to a computer
equipped with the proper graphics card for the large display as well as 24"
monitor
.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Cheers
Jens

As one possible suggestion, I believe the newly released Mac Mini comes with a built in HDMI port, thunderbolt and miniDVI outputs - along with running all the software you mentioned. You should be able therefore to hook up to a wide variety of displays with little problem.

With integrated HDMI out on Mac Mini's, you could probably just use any TV that takes hdmi in. However, if you want 3D, well that's a different story. and define 'interactive'. (Each user gets to control the display?) F On Aug 10, 2011, at 1:04 PM, jens j birktoft wrote:
