The --opt will run the "best" optimiser in e-LBOW uses the e-LBOW code. This currently means it uses the Geometry optimisation using Direct Inversion in the Iterative Subspace (GDIIS) with some improvements. This can be accessed directly using the --gdiis option.
The energy is calculated using the AM1 semi-empirical formalism.
