Hi Billy,

Diamond has the same version of git (1.7.1) on RHEL6 by default. No problems there.
Newer versions have more flags and features and things, but for our everyday use there is no difference.

Also, what is the minimum version of git that we should be using? I have git 2.9.3 on my Mac (10.12.1), but we have git 1.7.1 on our shared Linux development machine (CentOS 6.7).
